UK Mail raise £105,000 for the NSPCC
Today, the NSPCC and UK Mail are celebrating as the £100,000 fundraising target set by both organisations has been exceeded. UK Mail has raised over £105,000 for their charity partner the NSPCC, which will support children throughout the UK.
UK Mail employees have supported the partnership by fundraising through various activities, such as sky dives, bike rides and half marathons, or smaller fundraisers such as dress down days and cake sales. To help maximise donations, the company encouraged employees to fundraise and then matched the funds employees raised. UK Mail also introduced a payroll lottery initiative, which provides the charity with a monthly donation and gives employees the chance to win extra income each month.
Kirsty White, NSPCC Fundraising Manager, said: “As a company we're overwhelmed at the amount UK Mail has raised during this corporate partnership. The company set itself a steep target and thanks to the dedication and hard work of its staff, they’ve managed to smash their target earlier than expected. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved, your efforts will help protect a generation of local children”.
The proceeds raised will be used for a range of projects that support The NSPCC School Service. For example, help 9-11 year old pupils in the West Midlands understand abuse in all its forms and provide these children with the knowledge of how and where to receive help.
Ros Hunt, UK Mail Marketing Director, said “We are delighted to have exceeded our fundraising target and it takes great pleasure to know that our donations will help improve the lives of vulnerable children across the UK. On behalf of UK Mail, I would like to thank all the employees that have helped reach this exceptional fundraising total; for their continued dedication and generosity’’.
Throughout 2015, we will continue to support the NSPCC.
Our employees are encouraged to support any registered charity that is close to their hearts and the funds they raised are matched by UK Mail. Over the year we have donated to causes such as cancer, Alzheimer and children’s charities, medical research, Air Ambulance and The British Heart Foundation.
UK Mail operates a ‘Payroll Giving Scheme,’ allowing all our employees the opportunity to contribute to their preferred charity through monthly tax efficient salary deductions.
We also have a policy of supporting supplier and client charitable fundraising initiatives through donations of monies or gifts.
