UK Mail has launched 3,500 collection points across the UK to meet the increased demand for convenient parcel delivery options that fit into the lifestyle of today’s consumer. The collection points will be branded DHL ServicePoints, following DHL’s acquisition of UK Mail in 2016.
The new ServicePoints, located in convenience stores across the country, open up three new flexible delivery options for consumers sending domestic or international packages:
- InFlight: following a delivery attempt, the driver will take the parcel to the nearest ServicePoint, where the customer can collect their parcel later that day
- Change it: before or following an unsuccessful delivery attempt, the customer can select to have their parcel sent to their local ServicePoint, which they can select online
- Direct: a customer can select to have their parcel sent to their local ServicePoint at the point of ordering their item
With over half of UK households located within a ten-minute journey of a ServicePoint and the collection service available seven days a week, the new service offers the flexibility that today’s online shoppers demand. All ServicePoints have parking available and are designed to be in convenient locations.
Throughout 2018, UK Mail will work to introduce new services to the ServicePoint network to make it even more convenient for customers.
Peter Fuller, CEO UK Mail, said: “Following rapid growth in online retail and changing shopping behaviour, we know that people are looking for more choice in how they receive deliveries. Our home delivery expertise along with an extensive network of convenience store locations will deliver a high quality experience to our customers and give them the flexibility and convenience they require”.
The new service is available to all current UK Mail customers, should they choose to make it available to their own customers.
DHL is committed to delivering alternative delivery options to customers across Europe. With a network of over 60,000 ServicePoints, DHL is a market-leader in terms of European coverage.
