Outbound International Mail Service Update 25.03.20

by Prod Sync | Mar 25, 2020

Due to the Coronavirus and measures to reduce its spread, many international flights have been cancelled or schedules changed.

Most outbound mail is flown on scheduled passenger flights, many of which have been suspended. We are actively trying to switch to ‘freight’ on cargo aircraft as these are less affected than passenger flights, but even some of these have become subject to embargo and capacity on others is limited.

An additional £3.15 per-kilo weight charge will be applied to mail destined for the USA from 1st April 2020. This is to cover the increased cost of air freight into the USA.

The situation is very fluid and changes hourly. For the fastest updates we recommend you access Royal Mail’s International Incident Bulletin page through this link:

At UK Mail we are still committed to processing your items on time and presenting at our Agents for outbound flights. We will continue to do so whilst this is still viable.
