Due to the disruption caused by Storm Doris there are road and bridge closures in affected regions across the UK. This is causing challenging driving conditions and we are experiencing isolated service delays in the UK Mail network in the wake of the storm. Our operational teams are currently working hard to limit service disruptions.

It is expected weather conditions will improve on Friday 24th February 2017, but we will continue to keep you updated with any further disruptions.

Transport for London have advised that there is a planned strike from 20:00 on Sunday 5th February to Wednesday 8th February. If the strike goes ahead, it is expected that there will be a severely reduced service during this period. As a result of this, we expect heavy traffic in and around central London which may impact service delivery, particularly timed services.

Transport for London have confirmed the strike planned for Sunday 5 February has been suspended and services will operate as normal. A further service update will follow if there are any interruptions that may affect our delivery service.

Despite challenging weather conditions across many parts of the UK, we are pleased to advise that all UK Mail freight was successfully trunked overnight and is out for delivery with our drivers this morning. Early rain and snow over central and eastern parts should clear this morning and we anticipate that our service levels will not be significantly affected.

Due to high winds across the country, there are several bridge and road closures. The most notable being The Forth Road Bridge in east central Scotland, where some service delays may be experienced. Our drivers are working hard to limit any service disruptions.

Due to two carriageway closures on the M1 motorway we expect serious delays in and around the Bedford, Milton Keynes and Northampton areas. The northbound carriageway was closed at approximately 03:00 GMT and is expected to remain shut between junction 16, near Northampton, and junction 18, near Rugby for the remainder of the day. Southbound at junction 12 an accident involving four lorries has caused severe congestion and although the road has reopened, we expect delays well into the afternoon.

An accident on the M4 westbound between junctions 10 and 11 has meant drivers have been delayed arriving in the central Reading postcodes this morning. We expect there will be an impact on delivery and collection times in this area.

Transport for London have advised that there is a planned strike from 18.00 this Sunday 8th January for 24 hours. If the strike goes ahead, it is expected that there will be a severely reduced service on Sunday evening and all day Monday 9th January.

Due to a fire in Huddersfield, deliveries with a HD postcode could be effected due to closed roads and diversions in place.

At 6am this morning a tram overturned in Croydon trapping 5 people and injuring over 40 others; the incident is causing a number of service issues at our Croydon site today. 

There are significant delays around the UK Mail Croydon site due to diverted traffic and road closures, which are impeding drivers and impacting deliveries this morning. The incident is on the border of Croydon and Bromley, there are significant delays in BR/CR/SE postcodes with a number of road closures.

Priority service will be affected and it is likely there will be a number of addresses that we will not be able to deliver to today.

The M6 between J16 and J17 northbound was closed by the authorities at 01:00 AM GMT this morning following a serious multi- vehicle accident. Several of our vehicles have experienced delays following the incident and unfortunately this has impacted some of our scheduled deliveries in Scotland.

We are now working closely with our effected teams to ensure that our freight is delivered on-time. Any failures will be automatically upgraded to our Saturday delivery and attempted tomorrow.

On Monday 17 October there will be several road closures in place around Manchester City Centre due to celebrations of Team GB’s Olympic and Paralympic success. This event will also take place on Tuesday 18 October in Central London. UK Mail Drivers will attempt deliveries and collections, however it is expected some customers could experience delays.

Whilst Samsung work with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Samsung has asked all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place. Consumers’ safety remains the top priority and therefore UK Mail and ipostparcels will not be carrying the Galaxy Note7 through the network until further notice.
